Course Overview

Arabic for Sharia Studies is a comprehensive language program designed for students who aspire to understand the Arabic of the Qur’an, Hadith and other Islamic books.

Unlike modern or conversational Arabic courses, this program focuses on Sharia Arabic, the precise, eloquent, and text-centered language of Islamic scholarship. Starting from the basics, students will gradually learn how Arabic words are formed, how sentences are built, and how to understand texts written by scholars.

Who Should Enroll

To benefit fully from this course, students should have:

• Basic knowledge of Arabic Reading and Writing
  Familiarity with simple sentence structures and noun–verb recognition.

Course Outcome 

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

1. Recognize and apply rules (Nahw & Sarf). 
2. Read and analyze  Arabic texts in Qur’an, Hadith, and Tafsir.
3. Understand Qur’anic and Hadith-specific vocabulary and sentence structures.
4. Develop the ability to translate and summarize scholarly Arabic passages into English.
5. Comprehend discussions within their Arabic context.
6. Build confidence for Islamic Studies in Arabic-speaking environments.
